Started in 1638 by Shah jahan and completed in the year 1648 had been part of the Indian history since then. Next stop is Jama Masjid – a typical Mughal architecture, built by Muhammad Ali Shah and is on the western side of the Hussainabad Imambara. The tour of Delhi would be incomplete without visiting Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial site the Raj Ghat. The tour continues with New Delhi and visiting the Humayun’s Tomb, one of the earliest Mughal architecture in Delhi. Qutub Minar is one of the focuses in the Delhi tour as it the world’s tallest brick minaret with 72.5 metres in height. A drive along the Rajpath, India Gate, Parliament House, President’s Residence and the Diplomatic enclave almost brings to the end of the Delhi city tour, but it is the visit to the Lotus Temple before returning to the hotel for the night stay ends the city tour.

Day 3: Delhi – Agra

The third day starts with an early morning breakfast and then gearing up for the journey to the renowned city Agra for the visit to Taj Mahal. The white marble tomb that has found its place in the Seven Wonders of the World was built by Shah Jahan in 1631-1648 for his wife Mamtaz Mahal. The mausoleum is an architecture marvel and the Turkish and Persian influences are eminent in the building. Next we move to the Agra Fort, which is situated on the north western side of the Taj Mahal and the white pristine marble building can be seen from one part of the fort, where Shah Jahan has spend his old age. It was once the capital of the Mughal Dynasty during Emperor Akbar’s reign. The aura of the place can only be experienced with an overpowering Buland Darwaza and the other Palaces in the ruined city. The place is also known as the city of Ghosts and is one of the earliest examples of Hindu and Islamic architecture coming together. From there we move on to Jaipur and have a overnight stay at the hotel in the Pink City.
