Day-By-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival: Delhi – Agra (4 hours drive – 205 kms)

Representatives will receive the guests at the airport or the railway station in Delhi and then take them to the half day Delhi city tour, which will include both Old and New Delhi. The famous monuments like the Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret of the world and a world heritage site is on the list along with Red Fort, the Raj Path (the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi) and a drive along the Rajpath passing the Parliament, India Gate, the President’s House and Diplomatic Enclave. The tour of Delhi concludes with a leisurely late lunch and then starts the journey for Agra. The four hour drive from Delhi to Agra is a splendid one. The representatives will check you into the hotel and let you get refreshed before visiting the magnificent Taj Mahal. The guides will take you to the mausoleum and you can be part of the amazing site of seeing the Taj during the sunset. The architecture is awe-inspiring that took 22 years to be built. The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan made the Taj to honour the memory of his second wife Mamtaz Mahal. The journey of the first day ends here with a overnight stay at a hotel in Agra.

Day 2: Agra – Delhi

The second day starts with the visit to Taj Mahal at sunrise. After breakfast visit Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort is on the banks of River Yamuna and one can once again see the Taj Mahal from a portion of the fort. The legend goes that Aurangzeb, son of Shah Jahan was kept in that part of the fort under house arrest and the old emperor gazed at the tomb of his wife. The guests can admire the architecture of this red-standstone fort and the Diwani Aam and Diwani Khash and the stories that follows inside the fort. Next visit is at the Itmad-ud Daullah, the tomb that Empress Noorjahan built in the memory of her father, and is often compared to Taj Mahal. On the way back to Delhi an en-route to Fatehpur Sikri is made, 4 hour drive from Agra. The place is often called the ‘Ghost Town’ as it became an alienated capital after Emperor Akbar shifted the capital back to Delhi from Fatehpur Sikri. The place holds quite few palaces like the Jodha Bai Palace, the Birbal Place and many legends had taken shape there. In the evening the guests will be arriving at Delhi and take to the airport or railway station for their journey back home.
